Yes, you can use Ottermagic from the United States. Visitors from the US land in the US shop, where prices are in dollars. Upload a photo, run Style Swap, Face Swap, or Pet Swap, and preview until it looks like your people. Then order the printed A5, sent by airmail to a US address in around 2–3 weeks, or take the e-card: a hi-res, watermark-free file you can text, email, or print at home the same day. When the date is close, the e-card is the easiest route. If the card needs to land on a doormat in Britain, switch to the UK shop in the site header and order the printed A5 to that UK address, posted with Royal Mail. Prices in the UK shop are in pounds (GBP). You see the artwork before you pay. Start at Ottermagic.com.
This is a US FAQ. A longer format comparison lives in digital download or printed personalized card in the US. How to actually send the file is in how to send an Ottermagic e-card. UK posting windows are in Christmas posting deadlines.
Lead with the e-card
On the storefront the digital option is labelled E-card. After payment you get a high-resolution download with no watermark. Use the downloaded file, not a screenshot of the website preview (previews are watermarked on purpose until you buy).
Typical US uses at Christmas and through the holidays:
- attach the image to a text or iMessage
- drop it into a family email
- send it on WhatsApp to a sibling who lives three time zones away
- print a copy at home on the heaviest paper your printer will take, then fold and write inside
- take the file to a local print counter if you want a sturdier piece of card
Style Swap restyles a photo you already have: a Thanksgiving table, a summer vacation snap, the dog in a sweater. Face Swap places a face into a finished scene. Pet Swap is the path when the animal is the point. Text Swap covers a name or a short line if you would rather not put a face on the front. Live looks include Brick, Chibi, Anime, Watercolour, Clay 3D, Photobooth, Action Figure, Bobblehead, Sketch, Royal Portrait, and the rest of the set on the site.
Guests can preview without making an account. Sign in at checkout, with Google or email. The preview is usually ready in about a minute. Try another photo if the first one feels off. Preview before you pay walks through that in more detail.
The e-card is also the fastest way to reach someone far away when you want it today. Library e-card sites are a different product; comparison notes sit in e-cards vs a digital download from your photo.
A printed card to a US address
The US shop sends the same A5 card, printed to order in the UK, by airmail to US addresses. Allow around 2–3 weeks door to door. Airmail is untracked, so if a card hasn't arrived after 4 weeks, email support@ottermagic.com. Order about three weeks before the date you need it, and take the e-card if the date is closer than that. Checkout in the US shop is in dollars.
Sending a printed card to family in Britain
Ottermagic prints A5 cards to order in the UK: 148×210mm folded, 330gsm gloss, envelope included, blank inside or a printed message, recyclable stock, water-based inks. The UK shop posts those cards with Royal Mail to UK addresses in around 3–5 working days.
If you are in the US and the recipient is in Britain, use the UK/US switch in the site header, choose the UK shop, and enter their UK address at checkout. Checkout is then in pounds. You are not posting the card to your own US mailbox and forwarding it. You are ordering the UK print option to their door.
That is a useful move for:
- parents in Manchester who still put cards on the mantel
- a sister in Glasgow who will not print an attachment
- the friend hosting Christmas in Bristol
- a thank-you to a neighbour who looked after the house while you were away, if they are in the UK
You can address the parcel to them, not to you. Checkout already asks for a delivery address. If you are sending more than one UK envelope, each address is its own delivery.
Allow the 3–5 working day Royal Mail window, and remember UK bank holidays sit outside that count. If you are already inside that window, take the e-card instead and send the file. Do not copy a last-post date from a supermarket aisle onto Ottermagic; check the how late to order guide and Royal Mail's own pages.
For printed delivery to other countries, email support@ottermagic.com (reply within one working day). Never treat that as a promise of a particular route.
What Ottermagic is, in one pass
Ottermagic is a photo-to-art card site. You upload a picture, apply a named swap, and order print or the e-card. You make the artwork yourself and you see it before you buy.
It is a UK print product with a clear spec, plus posters and canvas from the same artwork (check the site for live wall-art details). For US shoppers there is also the printed card by airmail to US addresses, and the e-card works anywhere you can save a file.
Huge stationery walls and name-on-a-joke catalogues live at other shops. If you want them as Clay 3D or a Face Swap scene, start here.
Holiday wording for US lists (Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings) sits in happy holidays photo cards. A broader US shortlist is in best AI greeting card sites US 2026.
Photos that travel well in an e-card
Phone photos are fine. Use a frame where faces are large, eyes are open, and the light is even. A porch in July often restyles more kindly than a dim indoor shot with fairy lights behind someone's head. For Face Swap, crop to the person the scene is expecting. For a couple or a family already in one picture, Style Swap is the first try; see couple and family Face Swap cards.
If you are sending the file on a phone, pick a look that still reads small: Photobooth, Cartoon, Chibi, Brick. Sketch and Watercolour hold up when someone opens the image on a laptop and might print it.
Ready when you are
Make a holiday card from your own photo, even if you are shopping from the US. Upload, run Style Swap, Face Swap, or Pet Swap, and keep the preview you would actually send. Order the printed A5 by airmail to a US address, take the e-card for texts, email, and home printing, or switch to the UK shop and post an A5 330gsm gloss card to family in Britain. Start at Ottermagic.com. Support: support@ottermagic.com (reply within one working day).
FAQ
Does Ottermagic ship to the US?
Yes. The US shop sends the printed A5 by airmail to US addresses in around 2–3 weeks, untracked, with prices in dollars. The e-card download works from the United States the moment you pay. For a physical card on a UK doormat, switch to the UK shop and order the printed A5 to that UK address. For other printed delivery questions, email support@ottermagic.com.
Can I order Ottermagic cards from the US?
Yes. Preview as a guest, sign in at checkout, and buy the printed A5 (airmail to a US address, around 2–3 weeks) or the e-card, or use the UK shop for a printed A5 posted with Royal Mail to a UK address. US shop prices are in dollars and UK shop prices are in pounds.
How do I send a card to the UK from the US?
Switch to the UK shop in the header, generate the card from your photo, and enter the UK delivery address. Royal Mail takes around 3–5 working days after you order. If that window has gone, send the e-card.
What is a personalized holiday e-card from a photo?
On Ottermagic it is the paid E-card option: a hi-res, watermark-free download of your Style Swap, Face Swap, or Pet Swap artwork. You send the file yourself. There is no separate Ottermagic inbox for the recipient.
Do I need a UK billing address?
Use the shop that matches where the printed card should go. The UK shop checks out in pounds and posts to UK addresses. The US shop checks out in dollars and sends to US addresses by airmail. The e-card does not need a postal address at all.
