Late enough that you still have around 3–5 working days for a printed Ottermagic A5 to be made and posted with Royal Mail, or late enough that you should stop waiting on the letterbox and take the e-card. That is the 2026 version of the truth. Royal Mail publishes its last posting dates on its own Christmas page, and they change. Ottermagic checkout shows the estimate for your order. Upload a photo, run Style Swap, Face Swap, or Pet Swap, preview, then pick print or download from those two clocks. Start at Ottermagic.com.
The longer posting-and-carrier guide is Christmas posting deadlines, Royal Mail, and personalised cards. Use that for how to read last-post tables. Use this page when the question is simply “have I left it too late in 2026?”
The short 2026 answer
| Where you are in December | What to do |
|---|---|
| Comfortably more than 5 working days before you need it in their hands | Printed UK A5 on Ottermagic |
| Inside that window, or a bank holiday sits in the way | E-card, then print locally or send the file |
| You have not checked Royal Mail’s 2026 last posting dates yet | Check Royal Mail, then add Ottermagic’s print window on top |
| They have a US address | Printed A5 from the US shop, sent by airmail in around 2–3 weeks; inside that, the e-card |
| Family in another country, wanted today | E-card |
| You want it on a wall instead of in the post | Posters and canvas are available; they still need make-to-order time. Check the site |
Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays. Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day (and any substitute days) are not ordinary print-and-post days. Always read the live estimate at checkout.
What “around 3–5 working days” means when you are late
Ottermagic cards are printed to order. You approve the preview, you pay, the UK file is made, the card is printed on 330gsm gloss (A5 folded, 148×210mm, envelope included, blank inside or a printed message), then Royal Mail carries it. Recyclable stock, water-based inks.
In December that sequence shares the country with everyone else’s parcels. The typical window is still described as around 3–5 working days. It is a range, not a 10am promise. Standard post on this product is the Royal Mail service described on the site.
Count backwards from the day they should hold the card, which may be several days before the 25th if they travel. Skip weekends. Skip bank holidays. If you land inside three working days, look hard at the e-card.
Ottermagic does not sell printed cards as same-day. Other retailers might. Read their cut-off.
The e-card is the 2026 last-minute path
The sold digital option is the e-card: a hi-res, watermark-free download after payment. That is what you use when the calendar has already gone.
Then you:
- attach it in email, WhatsApp, or Messages
- print it at home or at a local shop
- show it on a phone when you walk in
How to send the file is in how to send an Ottermagic e-card. The likeness is already in the artwork. Style Swap, Face Swap, and Pet Swap do not get worse because you missed the post. A dark pub photo still will.
Live styles worth a late preview: Photobooth, Sketch, Cartoon, Clay 3D, Chibi, Brick, Watercolour, Royal Portrait, Lucky Leprechaun if a costume Face Swap is the joke. Full live list: Brick, Chibi, Emoji, Anime, Watercolour, Caricature, Cartoon, Classic Cartoon, Action Figure, Clay 3D, Retro Halftone, Retro Game, Royal Portrait, Pixel Art, Bobblehead, Sticker Sheet, Tarot Card, Photobooth, Sketch, Lucky Leprechaun.
Royal Mail last posting dates: theirs, not ours
Every year Royal Mail publishes last posting dates for Christmas, usually split by service. Search “Royal Mail last posting dates” when they are up. Those dates are about mail that is already in the system.
A personalised Ottermagic card is not already in the system. You still need the print step.
A sensible 2026 plan:
- Open Royal Mail’s current Christmas last posting page.
- Treat printed Ottermagic A5 as around 3–5 working days after you pay.
- Aim to approve the preview several working days before the last date for the service you will rely on.
- If you cannot, take the e-card.
Do not copy last-post tables from a supermarket blog into this article. Confirm against Royal Mail. Ottermagic checkout is the estimate for your order.
Etiquette (when it is still polite to send) is a separate question: Christmas card etiquette. A card that arrives on the 27th with their face on the front still lands better than silence.
US readers, and anyone already on the 23rd
For a US address, the printed A5 comes from the US shop and goes by airmail in around 2–3 weeks, so allow about three weeks before Christmas. After that, or if you are already on the 23rd, download the e-card. Print it locally if you want paper. Check USPS’s own holiday dates for anything you then post yourself.
Checkout is in pounds in the UK shop and dollars in the US shop. Support: support@ottermagic.com (reply within one working day). If a printed UK card seems late after a longer wait than the usual window, that mailbox is the one to write to.

Ready when you are
Order while there are still working days, or stop pretending the post will rescue you and take the file. Upload a photo on Ottermagic, run Style Swap, Face Swap, or Pet Swap, and check the live estimate at checkout. Print the A5 (148×210mm, 330gsm gloss, envelope) if the window is there. Download the e-card if it is not. Start at Ottermagic.com. Support: support@ottermagic.com (reply within one working day).
FAQ
What is the last date I can order Ottermagic Christmas cards in 2026?
There is no frozen date in this article. Work backwards from when they need it, using around 3–5 working days for printed A5, then check Royal Mail’s live last posting dates and Ottermagic checkout. If that sum no longer fits, buy the e-card.
Is it too late to send Christmas cards in 2026?
For printed UK Ottermagic cards, it is too late when you no longer have that working-day window plus any travel they are doing. For everyone else, the e-card is not too late until you decide not to send anything.
Does Ottermagic offer next-day Christmas print in 2026?
That is not a claim we make. The fast product is the e-card.
Do I need to wait for Royal Mail to publish dates before I order?
No. You can order printed cards whenever you like, using the 3–5 working day range. The Royal Mail page tells you when their last collections are. Use both.
Can I still hand-write inside if I order late?
Printed A5 can be left blank inside so you write it when it arrives to you, if you ordered it to your own address. If it is going straight to them, add a printed message at checkout or take the e-card and write in the email.
What if I need twenty cards tomorrow?
The e-card file can be printed locally more than once, within the personal licence (keep, print, gift, share; no resale). Posted Ottermagic A5 still needs the print window.
