Photobooth, Sticker Sheet, and Tarot Card Christmas Style Swap

Three of Ottermagic's live looks do a particular kind of Christmas card: a black-and-white booth strip, a sheet of die-cut stickers of the same face, and a tarot-style portrait with an empty banner. They are easy to mix up with "retro" in general, and they are not the same as Anime, Clay 3D, or Watercolour. If you want one of these three on the mantel, upload a clear photo, run Style Swap, preview until the likeness holds, then order a UK A5 or take the e-card. Start at Ottermagic.com.

Wider 2026 trend talk (film grain, nostalgia, booth strips as a mood) lives in Christmas card trends 2026. Playful Anime, Chibi, Pixel Art, and Brick have their own Christmas guide. Novelty Clay 3D, Action Figure, Bobblehead, and Caricature have theirs. Quiet Watercolour, Sketch, and Royal Portrait have theirs. This page stays with Photobooth, Sticker Sheet, and Tarot Card.

The three looks, in plain language

Photobooth restyles your photo as a vintage black-and-white booth print: four frames in a two-by-two grid on a small glossy card, the same people in each frame with different expressions, hard flash, film grain, sitting on a plain surface. There is no colour. There is no date stamp. It suits a couple squashed together, kids who will not hold a pose, and anyone whose best picture is already a bit of a laugh.

Sticker Sheet turns the same subject into six separate die-cut stickers on a pastel background, two rows of three, thick white borders, big simplified shapes, exaggerated expressions (smug, shocked, party-faced, side-eye). Every sticker is still them. It suits cousins, teenagers, and Secret Santa when a single solemn portrait would feel stiff.

Tarot Card draws them as the central figure on a classic illustrated tarot-style card: wobbling ink lines, flat colours in mustard, dusty blue, brick red, sage and cream, sun/moon/star motifs, an aged-paper feel, and a banner at the bottom left blank. No lettering, no numerals. It suits a slightly theatrical Christmas, a friend who likes that aesthetic, and a mantel that already has odd objects on it. It is a style, not a fortune. Do not send it as mock spirituality to someone who would find that rude.

All three are Style Swap: your photo in, that look out. Face Swap and Pet Swap remain available on other designs if you wanted a scene or the animal as the star instead.

Which photo to upload

Phone photos are fine. Clear, well lit, facing the camera.

Photobooth likes a face-on grin and a little headroom. A stiff studio portrait can look odd in a booth. A slightly messy snap often works better. Hats are fine if you can still see the eyes. If the first preview crops too tight, try a photo with more of the shoulders.

Sticker Sheet needs a likeness that survives simplification. Glasses, a strong haircut, and a readable face matter more than a beautiful background. Group shots with tiny heads will struggle; crop to the person (or the couple) who should appear on every sticker.

Tarot Card can take a calmer portrait. The pose will be reinterpreted as an archetype, so a slumped sofa photo may come out more upright than life. That is the point of the style. If they hate looking "mystical," pick Photobooth instead.

For pets, Pet Swap is usually the cleaner path than forcing a cat through a human tarot pose. A dog can look excellent in Photobooth if the whole animal is in frame. Photo tips: how to choose a photo for a personalised card.

Parents or guardians should upload children's photos, or have permission.

How they land as Christmas cards

Photobooth is the "we actually went out" card without needing a real booth. It also flatters last year's party lighting, because grain and flash are part of the look.

Sticker Sheet is the card you send to people who already have your face in a group chat. Six tiny versions of the same person is a joke and a keepsake. It can feel loud for a first card to a new in-law; save it for the cousin who would put the stickers on a laptop.

Tarot Card is the unexpected elegant-odd one. It sits closer to Royal Portrait than to Emoji, even though both are "a designed object of a person." The blank banner is on purpose. Do not expect the generator to write "The Empress" across the bottom; Ottermagic's look leaves that space empty.

You can generate all three from the same photo and keep the preview you would still send. Guests can preview without an account. You sign in at checkout. Previews are watermarked until you pay.

UK printed A5: 148×210mm folded, 330gsm gloss, envelope included, blank inside or a printed message, printed to order in the UK, posted with Royal Mail in around 3–5 working days, recyclable stock and water-based inks. Gloss suits Photobooth especially, because the style already pretends to be a photo-paper object.

In the US shop, the same A5 is sent by airmail to US addresses in about 2–3 weeks, so allow about three weeks before Christmas.

The e-card is a hi-res, watermark-free download after payment, on the confirmation page. That is the path when the post will miss, in either country.

Posters and canvas are available if you want the booth print or the tarot portrait on a wall. Check Ottermagic.com for current wall-art options. Do not copy A5 envelope timing onto a large piece without looking at the product page.

Checkout is in pounds in the UK shop and dollars in the US shop. Support: support@ottermagic.com (reply within one working day).

A note on the inside message

Photobooth and Sticker Sheet can take a lighter line ("Here is us, four times, still late"). Tarot Card can take a shorter, slightly drier one, or a sincere thanks if the likeness is the gift. Practical wording: how to write a Christmas card message with a personalised photo card.

Text Swap remains if you have no photo. If you have a photo, these three styles are why you are here.

FAQ

Is Photobooth a real photo-booth scan?

No. Style Swap restyles your ordinary photo into that booth-print look: four black-and-white frames of the same people.

Will Sticker Sheet put different relatives on each sticker?

The live look repeats the same subject from your photo across the six stickers, with different expressions. Crop to who should appear.

Does Tarot Card tell a fortune or print a card name?

It is an illustrated style with a blank banner. No lettering, no reading. Send it as a portrait, not as a prediction.

Can I use these looks for Secret Santa?

Sticker Sheet and Photobooth are easy wins. Tarot Card works if the recipient likes that aesthetic. Keep it kind; a brutal caricature belongs on a different style, and even then only if they would laugh.
