A card to go with a present: personalised cards for gifts, vouchers, hampers and flowers

A present without a card looks like it got dressed in the dark. The easier fix is a front that already looks like them, so the voucher, the flowers, or the slightly awkward cash envelope feels chosen. On Ottermagic you upload a photo, run Face Swap, Style Swap, or Pet Swap, preview until you recognise them, then tuck a printed A5 (148×210mm folded, 330gsm gloss, envelope included) under the ribbon, or send the e-card if the gift is arriving another way. Start at Ottermagic.com.

If you want the same artwork as a poster or canvas as well as the card, that matching-set idea lives in card, poster and canvas gift sets. This page is the card that travels with a present you already bought.

Why the card does more work than it looks

A gift voucher is a promise. Flowers last a week. An experience day is a date in the diary. The card is the bit they keep on the mantel while they wait, or the bit they reread when the hamper is crumbs.

Face Swap puts them in a festive scene so the envelope already feels like a joke you two share. Pet Swap does the same when the real recipient is the dog and the human is only opening the box. Style Swap restyles a recent photo into Watercolour, Photobooth, Clay 3D, Cartoon, Sketch, and the other live looks, which is useful when the present itself is ordinary and the likeness has to carry the thought.

Text Swap is still there if you have no photo and you want their name, or a family saying, on the front. If a picture exists, use it.

The printed card is made to order in the UK. The UK shop posts it with Royal Mail to UK addresses in around 3–5 working days; the US shop sends it by airmail to US addresses in around 2–3 weeks. Recyclable stock, water-based inks, blank inside or a printed message. The e-card is a hi-res, watermark-free download after payment. Support: support@ottermagic.com (reply within one working day). Checkout shows pounds in the UK shop and dollars in the US shop.

Ideas by gift type

Voucher or cash, tucked inside

Cash in a generic shop card reads as panic. Slide it into an Ottermagic A5 instead. A Face Swap of the two of you, or a Style Swap of their grin in Photobooth, gives the envelope a reason to exist beyond hiding notes.

Keep the inside short. “This is for the coat you would never buy yourself.” If you are printing a message, leave room; a novel belongs in a letter, not under a twenty.

E-card works if the money is a bank transfer and they live in another time zone. Send the file the same day the payment lands.

Hamper

Hampers are anonymous unless something on top is theirs. Prop the card against the jar of chutney so it is the first thing they see when they lift the lid. Watercolour and Sketch sit well next to food. Clay 3D and Retro Game sit well next to a jokey hamper for a sibling.

If the hamper is going to someone else’s door, have the A5 come to you and tuck it in before you wrap. Do not assume the hamper company will add your file.

Flowers

Florist cards are the size of a luggage tag. They disappear between stems. A proper A5 next to the vase is the bit still standing on Friday.

A Face Swap in a gentle scene, or Style Swap in Watercolour, is kinder than a loud caricature next to lilies. Pet Swap if the flowers are really an apology to the person and a tribute to the cat who sat on the remote again.

If the bouquet is a same-day local order, you will not get a printed Ottermagic card there in an hour. Send the e-card to their phone, then post the A5 to arrive as a second beat. Two greetings is allowed.

Experience day

Spa day, cookery course, a ticket. The card has to hold the excitement until the date. Action Figure, Classic Cartoon, and Photobooth make the waiting feel like part of the gift. Write the date inside in your own words, even if the voucher already states it. People lose emails.

A framed print, poster, or canvas

If the main gift is already a picture of them, the card should match, not compete. Generate once on Ottermagic. Order the A5 as the opener, and a poster or canvas of the same artwork if you want the wall version in the same wrapping. Check Ottermagic.com for live wall-art details. Ottermagic offers posters and canvas. You do not need a separate portrait shop for the hangable copy.

Message ideas that do not sound like a receipt

For a voucher: “I ran out of guesses. This is so you can pick the good version.”

For flowers: “These will droop. The card is the bit I meant.”

For a hamper: “Eat the biscuits first. I packed the card in case you needed permission.”

For an experience: “A day that is not the school run. The front is you, on purpose.”

For cash: “Unromantic and extremely useful. I still made you look like a Royal Portrait.”

US shoppers can keep the same lines. Swap “school run” for “Tuesday” if it reads more naturally.

Matching a poster or canvas from the same photo

One preview, two formats, is the clean Christmas bundle when the present is meant to stay. Card to open. Poster or canvas to hang. Availability of wall art is on Ottermagic.com; do not copy A5 timings onto a large print.

The gift-set walkthrough, with more on why the pair feels like one present, is card, poster and canvas gift sets. Christmas-specific wall gifts are in personalised Christmas posters and canvas.

Text Swap on the card and a photo swap on the wall is a valid mix if the envelope is a name joke and the wall is the likeness. You do not have to pick only one mode for the whole gift.

Printed A5 or e-card, UK and US

UK: order the A5 with enough time for print and Royal Mail (around 3–5 working days). If the present is already in the boot of the car and you forgot the card, take the e-card, print it at home if you can, and post the proper A5 as a follow-up. See digital download vs printed A5.

US: the US shop sends the same printed A5 by airmail to a US address, so allow around 2–3 weeks before the present is handed over. If the gift is sooner than that, use the e-card, send it by text or email with the gift note, and print the file at home if you want paper in the wrapping. The artwork is still Style Swap, Face Swap, or Pet Swap from their photo.

Ready when you are

Give them a front that looks like them, then let the voucher, hamper, flowers, or framed print sit beside it. Upload a photo, run Face Swap, Style Swap, or Pet Swap, and take a printed A5 or the e-card once the preview is right. Start at Ottermagic.com. FAQ

Can I put money inside an Ottermagic card?

Yes. The printed A5 comes with an envelope. Slip notes in after it arrives to you, or hand it over in person. If the card is posted straight to them, do not put cash in the post.

What if the gift is being delivered by someone else?

Send the e-card to land when the box does, and post a printed A5 to their address if you still want paper. Or have the A5 come to you and add it before you wrap.

Can I use Text Swap if I do not have a photo of them?

Yes. Ottermagic Text Swap puts a name or a short line on a designed Christmas front. If you later find a photo, generate Style Swap or Face Swap for the next gift.

Do you sell the gift as well as the card?

Ottermagic sells the card, the e-card, and posters or canvas of the same artwork. Flowers, hampers, and vouchers come from wherever you already shop.
